This machine is the most up-to-date machine I've played in this series so far. AND I LIKE IT! The first thing I noticed was that the graphics are a lot smoother. It's as if someone's upped the frame-rate. It also makes the patterns seem faster.
There's a lot of choice on this machine. It includes almost every 4th Mix song plus a few 3rd mix and a host of new tracks for 5th. Another thing which is new on 5th Mix is arrow freezes where the arrows come to a complete standstill. If I hadn't played the songs on DWI first, this would have totally thrown me off.
The major problem is the inability to play double unless you have 2 credits. This is quite annoying if you only want to do the one song on double.
Another thing that really bites is the fact that the UK operators remove the memory card slots. I've got some really cool edits that I made on my import copy, but I'll never get to show them off in the arcade. SWINES!
As far as DDR goes, it's nice to have this new challenge cropping up all over the UK. And with songs like Drop Out, Afronova Primeval and Orion .78, it's a great opportunity to show off. ;-)
Overall, I'd give this machine a healthy 9/10. I still want to see a MAX or MAX 2 machine, though.......

Hey people! Lil' ol me again! So Dance Dance Revolution 5th Mix... Well, this is the latest mix I’ve played of the American/Japan series (This will probably change though. J) and I have to say, Americans are so lucky! This game makes EuroMix 1 look like Disney’s Rave (Well that’s unfair on Disney’s Rave, coz I heard that its actually quite hard in places!)
But anyway, so many more songs! New characters (including my favourite dude in the union-jack dungarees)! Long Versions such as Britneys Spears’ ‘Ooops… I did it again’! Speed changes! This game has it all! All the songs you longed to play after using all the DDR simulators are now at your fingertips or rather your toes! Its even got tonnes (and I mean tonnes) of songs from previous mixes! HOW COOL!!!!
This is defiantly the best mix I have played SO FAR (PLEASE NOTE WRITTEN AT 12:25AM ON THE 31st OF JULY so will probably change when Euromix 2 is out). It’s the ultimate game for beginners and experts alike (although there is no beginners mode, due to the fact its japanese) but using the beginner songs you’ll be away in no time! It terms of a rating id give it 8.5 or 9 /10.
Defanatly the one to spend the most money on out of the few available! If you see one, check it out! If you aren’t satisfied then id be very surprised.
