Trees do a lot for us, they keep us alive because they give us oxygen to breathe, clean the air, affect rainfall, control erosion, and keep our climate in
balance. They are more than just an appealing part of our landscape. Due to the process of deforestation a chunk of rainforest as big as a football pitch is destroyed every second. Much of this destruction is done in order to make room for grazing cattle - the source of the burgers we consume at fast-food places. Most of us don't realise the rainforests produce much of our oxygen.

Don't forget that every second hundreds of animal homes are being crushed too. If the destruction of the rainforest continues like this this, in thirty years rainforests will cease to exist!
