| Afrihealth Optonet Association (AOA) is a Nigerian non-governmental organisation (NGO) involved in health and development research, policy analysis, community intervention and public education. It is a member of the Global Campaign for Microbicides; the International AIDS candlelight memorial; the Coalition of International Organisations for the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse; the Child Rights Information Network (CRIN); the Population and Health InfoShare tool for sharing information on reproductive and child health, HIV/AIDS, and population; one of the more than 300 International Organizations Against the Global Gag Rule that sent a letter to President Bush urging him to take actions against the rule; etc. The organisation is made up of three community-focused agencies namely: Afrihealth Information Projects, Optonet International, and GAHADA Partners (Global Allies for Health and Development in Africa), with vast interests in the health and social well being of local communities and their inhabitants. AOA's objectives include i. To promote and mobilise for the general health of the society, ii. To provide information, education, and advocacy for the attainment of a healthy society, iii.
