I joined the RAF on 28th April 1953 as No. 588577 - Aircraft Apprentice - Michael Anderton (Andy) - Armament Fitter u/t.
The apprentice course was for 3 years and the Passing Out Parade was on 28 March 1956
The brass wheel badges were worn on the arm and were the badge of all RAF Apprentices and Boy Entrants.
The cloth badge above was our entry badge, designed by one of our members and worn proudly whenever 'civvies' were worn.
