at Club races and events in past years. We start with 1994 when
most Club members had waist-lines and hair (and that’s just
the ladies). All this information is provided courtesy of our
former statistician Dave Sharp, who has now departed to southern
parts.
Fell Running
1993/94
The mens fell race championship was won in
1994 by (the athlete formerly known as) Mike Egner, with the
Bridget Coomber the ladies champion (now she still runs a bit).
In those days the best ‘long’, ‘medium’ and
‘short’ finish, plus the best two others counted
towards the championship. Ranking is based on the percentage of
your time above that of the winner.

Road Running 1993/94
The men's road
race championship was won in 1994 by Jim Bell, with Bridget
Coomber the ladies champion. By strange coincidence they both won
again in 2002! As with the fell championship the best
‘long’, ‘medium’ and ‘short’
finish, plus the best two others counted towards the
championship. Ranking is based on the percentage of your time
above that of the winner.
