The soundtrack plays a powerful part in the Angel Heart experience. It adds to the menace of the film, and the songs featured seem to add to Harry's confusion (the right key, but the wrong keyhole?). The final revelation descends upon the viewer with even greater force when taking in to account the music.
The haunting, menacing theme that overshadows the movie on Jones' Synclavier and Pine's saxaphone is heard for the first time in it's original form: a plaintive love song to a girl that doesn't exist, ironically sung by Johnny himself.
