The latest developments in digital
technology mean that ink jet printers can now render images at near
photographic quality. It is therefore possible to print to a quality
similar in appearance to lithographic printing or to traditional wet
chemical photography. If you require individual prints or a small print
run, wide format printing is particularly efficient in terms both of
quality and price. It is also very effective for the production of large
format work such as posters and images for exhibition stands. The high
quality of this process means that it is also very effective as a means of
producing photographic enlargements.

Most lithographic printers can only
offer a realistic price for orders over about 250 copies, as setting up
costs are the same for small or large print runs. The majority of large
format printers charge the same unit price no matter how large the run.
This makes small print runs expensive.
