Practice Helps    Go to:  Soprano Alto Tenor Bass Singalong

Latest changes:
27/05/2008 - Some Summer concert items added

Here are some helps which PWCS members can use for practice purposes (The quality of sound received may vary from computer to computer, depending on the sound card installed).
Soprano files have the soprano part emphasised; Alto files, the alto, etc, etc.
The Singalong files play all parts at equal volume, for more advanced practice.

FOR THE MIDI FILES (.mid) you can use windows media player or, preferably, "MidiPlay" which you can download from MidiPlay. Install the program on your computer, and you're ready to practise items from the Midi list below.
(RIGHT click on the .mid item from the parts list below and choose Save Target As... .
When the Save As window appears, choose the folder where you want to keep your practice files; click on Save ).

Open the MidiPlay program, click on File ... Open and find the folder where you have saved the .mid files. Open the required file. When you click on "Play Alto etc" the song will start to play, with your part emphasised. To restart the song, use the |<< and > controls in the Play window of this programme, which always appears when you start to play a song.
You will need to play with the volume controls in this programme to get the best effect for you. Note that when you decrease your part, using the Volumes window, the other parts increase together, and vice versa, which is very useful.

FOR THE .bin FILES (which must be renamed as .nwc files, see file download procedure below)
you will need NoteWorthy Player.
(On the NoteWorthy Player page, click on “ NoteWorthy Player 1.75b” to download this).
Install the program on your computer, and you're ready to practise items from the (.bin) list below.
To practice your part using "NoteWorthy Player," you need to download,
from the NoteWorthy list below, the practice items you need. (RIGHT click on the item and choose Save Target As... .
When the Save As window appears, choose the folder where you want to keep your practice files;
also, in the File Name box, CHANGE THE FILE EXTENSION from .bin to .nwc and click on Save ).
If you prefer, you can change the extension to .nwc after saving the items in your chosen folder.
Files will NOT open in Noteworthy Player if you have not changed the file extension from “.bin” to “.nwc” .

Please e-mail me if any link is broken, or if you have a problem or error to report.
