Ok, so you'd like a few more points would you? These are basically just common sense pointers that I've used to get more neopoints...

1. Feed your pets with the free omelette and jelly you can get every day, and other cheap food (e.g. Bagguss, Pyramicake, Faerie Cake). Your pets will be just as fine with cheap foods as more expensive foods, and that way you get to save money.
2. Play all the games you can, especially ones where you can get lots of neopoints easily (Kiko Match, Destructomatch, etc.). Make sure you play each game the maximum amount of times you are allowed.
3. Go to the Fruit Machine, Tombola and Wheel of Excitement every day and you should hopefully get some free stuff which if it isn't great, you can at least sell it in your shop.
4. Search the shop wizard for bargains and then sell them at a higher price.
5. Buy your pet a petpet. That way it should always stay happy even if you don't have time to play with it.
6. If your pet gets ill then go to the healing springs until it gets better (it will happen eventually!).
7. Go to Coltzan's Shrine. You probably won't get something every day, but you can have your pet's level, attack, defence etc increased- saves the price of a codestone!

AVOIDING SCAMS

NEVER give out your password
NEVER trade outside the trading post
NEVER fall for scams such as "Buy this and I'll give you a million neopoints!" Or "Send me your username & password cos you've won 10,000 neopoints!"
If you recieve a neomail from anyone claiming to be from neopets, delete it straight away. Neopets will only EVER contact you through your proper email address, and they will never ask for your password.

WINNING TROPHIES

Well, you want to get some lovely shiny trophies for your user lookup. Right? There are a few main games where you can pretty much guarantee to get a trophy...

1) Cheat. This is a card game. Once you get the hang of playing this it's really easy to win trophies on it, and you also get battlecards when you complete a level. 

2) Pyramids. This is another card game. You get a bronze trophy after winning 2 games, a silver after winning 5 games... I haven't managed to get a gold trophy yet- you have to win 2 games in row which is hard!

3) Sahkmet Solitaire. Yet another card game. It should be familiar- it's the same as the solitaire game on most computers. You get trophies for winning games again on this- a bronze after 2 games... haven't got any further than that myself...

4) Snow Wars. You should recognise this game- it's the same as the game 'battleship'. It's not hard to play but it can take ages to actually win a game. First off you get a medal, then a bronze trophy after winning 4 levels, then silver after 6 and gold after level 10.

5) Cellblock. Once you get the hang of this it's not too hard to win a medal, but to get on to the trophies takes time and lots of patience. Basically you have to get 5 in a row of your counters, while stopping your opponent getting 5 in a row.

6) Go!Go!Go! Another card game again, you can get your first trophy after winning level 3... silver after level 5 and gold after the 8th.

7) Punchbag Bob. This isn't a game, you can practice your battle moves on Punchbag Bob. You can get a 'beating punchbag bob' trophy after you have beaten him (obviously). It takes a VERY long time to do though so be warned! (It's not hard though.)

CHAT FONTS & AVATARS

If you go to your chat preferences you will see that you can change your avatar and font for all your messages on the chat boards and guild boards.  You can also find random avatars by doing certain things, or by going to certain parts of the site (e.g. viewing the pet lookup of a Faerie Grundo will give you a Faerie Grundo avatar).
