A nearly fatal Trike Build and an expensive rip off

 

It is unlikley that I will be able to sue Mr Hope because I paid cash, did not get a receipt, and Mr Hope is ignoring any correspondence.

This report and has been varified as correct and the trike has been viewed by two other trike builders who are well respected and experienced builders. 

Both are members of a well known UK Trike Association

Bob Hope has not offered to either correct his work, or to refund any money.

Archways is advertised on the Yorkshire Trikers website

 

The axel was fitted without blogking the breather or drilling a new one. (Rear axels are turned upside down so breather hole is at bottom)  The rear brakes had not even been looked at by Bob. One of the springs had no bush in it and the prop shaft was missing 2 bolts on the UJ

The axel was skewwiff  and the welds - naff

 

Mr Hope describes himself as being a welder yet advertises as a Trike Builder

Homemade rear pegs (for 2 grand????) Note pipes !!!!

 

Imagine getting one of those rear foot pegs into the back of your leg !!!!

The exhaust pipes have been made a push fit and are secured with a single bolt each

Note the seat does not fit and was held with 2 self tappers

The tyres which were fitted had only just legal tread depth.

  Mr Hope who is a founder member of Yorkshire Trikers* was paid £2,000 cash and I supplied the rear axel and the swing arm at my expense. The work did NOT include an MOT.

On the way to the MOT testing station the offside halfshaft CAME OUT (this was after about 15 miles of use since archway returned the trike)
