What we did in February 2004...
Thinking Day Service
Thinking Day
World Thinking Day is February 22nd. It is when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere remember each other. It was first celebrated in 1927, and the date was chosen because it is the joint Birthday of our Founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, World Chief Scout (1857), and his Wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell, World Chief Guide (1889).
On 22nd February we joined other Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members in the District for a great Thinking Day Celebration. It was run by a group called Holy Fools and the girls had a fantastic time learning several new circus skills including juggling and plate spinning.

Senses Adventure
This Adventure was postponed from January, when our meeting was cancelled because of the snow. It was a great fun evening. The girls worked round three bases for the first half of the evening - Smelling, Feeling and Signing.
At the Smelling base they had to guess 4 smells whilst they were blindfolded - coffee, onion, tomato ketchup and blackcurrant squash.
At the Feeling base they had to guess 4 objects by feeling into a bag - Brownie Badgebook, Comb, Grapes Brownie Interest Badge.
At the Signing bases we had two guests who came in and taught the girls how to say their Promise in sign language.
The second half of the meeting the Brownies had two more challenges - Hearing and Tasting.
With their blindolds on they had to guess 4 sounds - bicycle horn, Book Pages turning, Phone keypad, and keys.
Finally came the taste challenge. The Brownies had to guess 4 different tastes - lemonade, marzipan, water and the final one, that everyone loved, a bar of chocolate!
