What we did in February 2006...
Entertainer Badge
This month we Entertained people at a local Residential home. The Brownies put on a great show with plenty of sing-a-long songs for the residents to join in with. Songs included 'I do like to be beside the seaside', 'Pack up your troubles', 'Daisy, Daisy' and 'Land of Hope and Glory'. We hope the residents had as much as fun as we did.
13 Brownies completed their Entertainer Badge on this evening, and all Brownies got an indoor adventure certificate - Well done to everyone.
On Wednesday 15th February we were in the Welwyn and Hatfield Times with a picture showing some of the Brownies with a Resident from the home.

Go For It Guides
This month we said good-bye to another Brownie as she finished her Go for It Guides and moved up to Guides. Her last evening was our Thinking Day Party and members from her Guide Unit came along to see her move up.
Thinking Day
World Thinking Day is February 22nd. It is when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere remember each other. It was first celebrated in 1927, and the date was chosen because it is the joint Birthday of our Founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, World Chief Scout (1857), and his Wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell, World Chief Guide (1889).
On February 22nd many Brownies wore their uniforms to school.
For our Thinking Day celebrations we looked at the 4 World Centres in England, India, Switzerland and Mexico. The Brownies worked around 5 bases which were - England - Make a hama bead St. George flag necklace, India - Try some indian food, Mexico make a woven placemat, Switzerland - make a 'Little Bee' from pipe cleaners. The fifth base was to colour a picture of one of the world centres and make into a jigsaw. Some of the bases have counted towards their World Guiding Interest Badge, which they will finish next month.
All Brownie gained a Craft Badge this evening - Well Done.
For the District Celebrations we will join with other Packs for a Thinking Day Disco and short service. The Disco was great fun and the Brownies enjoyed meeting up with the Rainbows and Guides. They all enjoyed hot dogs and biscuits during the disco too.
