What we did in February 2007...
We have continued with our Right to work together challenges. This month we tried the challenge Join Hands, which the Brownies had great fun with. Each six tried to light a candle, make a paper aeroplane, tie a reef knot and cut out a Right Here Right Now badge shape all while holding hands and just using one hand from each of the end Brownies.
Thinking Day
World Thinking Day is February 22nd. It is when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere remember each other. It was first celebrated in 1927, and the date was chosen because it is the joint Birthday of our Founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, World Chief Scout (1857), and his Wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell, World Chief Guide (1889).
On February 22nd the Brownies wore their uniforms to school.
For our Thinking Day celebrations each six looked at a country where there are Brownies and found out some details about that country - from what the Brownies wear and their promise, to what they eat and the capital city. The countries this year are the Philippines, Spain, Australia and Ireland. We had a great evening, including eating Puto from the Phillipines.
For our District Celebrations we joined with Guessens District for a fun afternoon with a theme of Africa.
