What we did in September 2004...

New Term

To start the term we had a planning pow-wow with the girls giving us plenty of great ideas, so watch this space to see some of them in action....

Iris Falconer Trophy

This month we took part in the Iris Falconer Trophy. This is a District event where the Brownies from each pack take part in a day of challenges in sixes. The winning six gets the Iris Falconer Trophy.

Iris Falconer was Brown Owl of the 4th WGC Pack and District Comissioner, until her untimely death in a road accident in December 1977.

This year the challenges were based around 90 years of Brownies. The Brownies had to undertake some of the old style Brownie Challenges from the Golden Hand, Golden Ladder and pre-promise. They learnt to tie the old style neckercheif, plait, sing the six songs (not to hard for our pack!!), and know the order of washing up by hand. At the end of the day Pixies came 2nd overall - WELL DONE!

Go for it Guides

This month we started working towards Go For It Guides with two girls who were moving up to Guides at half term. The whole Pack got involved with two of their challenges - to make up the guidelines for how to Listen at Brownies, and to taste test various sweets and chocolates to find their favourites.
