Newcastle (Longbenton) hosted round 5 of the 2004/5 1/32 BOC on 19/20 February and, despite the adverse weather, we had a good turnout of 20, with more than half of the country's eligible Premier drivers competing.

We started with Best Presented and this was won by Graham Woodward (photo below), but several well prepared shells were in the frame (see photo below).

James Cleave TQ'd and went on to win overall by some margin. This was James' first visit to Longbenton! Charlie Gooding, Alan Lucas and Paul Harwood followed him home. A good debut for the new Austin 307 saloon shell with 1st, 2nd and 4th overall. Below are the top 4 saloons from on above (starting with the winner on the left), and the chassis of the 2-3-4 placed cars.

Formula 1

In F1, it was Brian Saunders who TQ'd, but it was Paul who went on to win overall with a very steady drive - he was clearly well pleased at the finish -

(below) Spot the difference, the top four all drove Horkys but with very different motor/gear set-ups.  Paul's winner has the gold and red body.
