Welcome to Canmore, the home of the Catholic faith in St Andrews!

   The University of St Andrews Catholic Society is a fellowship of Christian students who worship God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are in full communion with the Bishop of Rome, John Paul II, whom we recognize as the Supreme Pontiff (literally ‘bridgebuilder’) and Vicar of Christ. All varieties of devoted Catholics are represented here; from folk mass addicts to Tridentine Mass afficianados. Indeed, Canmore is known as a bastion of the orthodoxy and a rock of faith amongst the changing tides of university life.
   All people, Catholic or otherwise, are welcome here to discover the Christian faith, and in particular the Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church which founded this university nearly six centuries ago.

A Message from the Chaplain
FR. BRIAN HALLORAN

Canmore is an oasis where springs of living water flow, where spiritual and temporal thirsts are quenched. We have a chapel and a library and galvanising people. Come to us for tea or coffee after Mass, or strong drink at eventide.
If you don’t need us, we need you. You might be the Christopher to carry some weary traveller. This is a meeting place where you’ll find stimulating conversation, a place to pray or to study, a place of challenge and adventure!
