QUILLAN AND SURROUNDING AREA

Quillan is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees, south of the medieval city of Carcassonne and west of Perpignan.
The cities of Toulouse, Beziers and Narbonne are within easy reach.

The tax free principality of Andorra  is a beautiful 50mile drive through the Pyrenees, and the Spanish border town La Jonquera with its range of low price supermarkets and ceramic outlets is 1 1/2 hrs away.

The Fishing Ports & Fabulous Mediterranean beaches can be reached in just over an hour.

Activities

During the summer months the river Aude which runs below the house is a popular venue for kayakers, and 5 minutes outside of Quillan the fantastic rock gorge Pierre Lys is used for white water rafting & Hydrospeeding.

For winter sports fans there is a large cross country skiing and tobogganing  area 1/2 an hour from the house.

Five downhill skiing fields are within 1 hrs drive, with many more including Andorra less than 2 hrs away.

ACCESS

Quillan is approx 50 mins easy driving distance from the airports of Carcassonne, and Perpignan; 1 1/2 hrs from Toulouse 2 hrs from Nimes and 3 hrs from Barcelona.

A regional train runs twice daily with extra services for special events such as the famous firework displays at the Medieval City of Carcassonne.

There is also a regular bus service to Carcassonne and Perpignan.
