Paul Scholes Framed Manchester Utd Shirt

Signed In Clear Black Marker next to the Number 8

Paul Scholes signed for United on trainee terms on 8 July 1991 and turned professional 18 months later on 23 January 1993. The young midfielder showed much promise in the youth and reserve teams, winning an FA Youth Cup runners-up medal in the 1993. Scholes missed out on a winners medal the previous year as part of the 'Class of '92' team due to injury. He was also a member of the England Under-18 team which won the European Championships in 1993.

In the 1994/95 season Paul became a regular in the senior side in the absence of Eric Cantona (through suspension) and Mark Hughes (through injury), earning himself a place in the FA Cup Final as a substitute for Lee Sharpe.

Paul is a midfielder with great distribution and an eye for goal. He has been an England regular since Glenn Hoddle started him in two of the three ˇ§Tournoiˇ¨ matches in France in 1997. He has been an ever-present in two World Cups and one European Championship and his England goals have included a hat-trick in Kevin Keeganˇ¦s first match as manager, a European Championship qualifier against the Poles at Wembley.

Paul has won six Premierships and two FA Cups in a trophy-filled 11 years at United ˇV but had the misfortune to miss out on their European Cup triumph in Barcelona in 1999. He continues to be an outstanding influence at Old Trafford, scoring 13 times as United clinched the title in 2003.

After breaking his barren run in front of goal with a strike against Croatia in Euro 2004, Scholes bowed out of the international scene, announcing his retirement from England action in August.
