Cleanliness I've met a man this year who tells me that exhibition breeders of cattle & dogs believe keeping the animals in sterile conditions negatively affects the fertility of their stock. Now this may be a cheap excuse not to clean, but it may have something to do with an animals immune system e.g. the more bugs its exposed to the more effective its immune system is? Any view on this?? Comments: Colin's view - I clean out the cages as much as I can, but during breeding season this isn't as often as I'd like. I've seen some breeders who have excellent breeding season, but aren't at the forefront of cleanliness. I think clinical is too far the other way, but if I were a bird I'm sure I'd like to be comfortable in my surroundings.
