Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs are my team and even though Ars*nal has been more successful in recent years, I still believe my team is the pride of North London. With the appointment of Santini, I feel Spurs have the potential to improve on the mediocre periods of the past decade or so. At the time of writing, we have just managed a secure a good victory away at Everton, who were relatively high placed in the Premiership at the time. But as I write now at the end of December, we now have a new manager in Martin Jol. I still think he has the potential to make us a decent side.

Ars*nal

I don't really like Arsenal, but I don't detest them either. I think most football rivalries are petty and illogical; it's not worth seeking to harm somebody because they follow a football team you 'despise'. Nonetheless, I have to credit them for having an exceptional team. The biggest remaining test for them is to win the Champions League. Can they do it in 04/05? They possess as good a chance as any other team in the competition, I guess.

Sug*r

I generally cite this man as being responsible for Tottenham's mediocre era in the 1990's. Fine, he should be commended for saving the club from financial difficulty. Nevertheless, he lacked the ambition (and the football nous) to make Spurs a better team. The 94/95 side (IMO) is probably the best team Spurs have possessed in recent times. Yet Sug*r let Klinsmann leave and failed to drastically improve on the players available. I believe that if Spurs had denoted some ambition at that time, Klinsmann would have remained at the club and Tottenham could have been a Premiership force for the rest of the decade. The primary reason (IMO) why Arsenal are ahead of us, on and off the pitch, is due to the ambition demonstrated by their board of directors. Hill-Wood, Dein et al desires the best for Arsenal. In that era, we needed someone who desired the best for Tottenham.
