Football fans
across the county celebrated on Saturday after seeing the England squad
qualify for the World Cup finals.
Pubs in Kettering,
Corby and Wellingborough were packed with supporters who watched England
draw 2-2 with Greece, a score which guaranteed them entry into the tournament.
Bar staff were
pleased to report a positive atmosphere among fans as they celebrated
the national team's qualification.
Yannis Grammenous,
who manages the Xtra pub in Dalkeith Place, Kettering said: "There
was a really good atmosphere during and after the game and there were
loads of England shirts out.
"It went
really quiet when England were losing but all the crowd was well behaved.
We had the St George's Cross up behind the bar.
"I'm Greek
myself but I thought it was a good result and I wasn't disappointed with
the score".
