Xtra on top of the table! 3.47pm 18/11/2001

Xtra FC found themselves on top of the table this week, but unfortunatley it a table football competition. And to make it feel like a true Xtra performance, they were knocked out of the first round 6-4.

Phil England and Chris Grant represented Xtra in a table football competition at EMAP in Peterborough, all in aid of Chrildren in Need.

Fully kitted out in Xtra FC colours, the lads put up a sterling performance. After being 4-1 down at half time and 6-1 down during the second half, a fightback occured where the lads came within two goals of their opposition.

'Gutted' was the word of the day as they had been full of promise in training previously. The lads also felt hard done by as efforts by Xtra were dissallowed as the ball hit the back of the net and came back out.

Cries for the Russian linesman were heard but to no avail.

The event raised over £1000 for the BBC backed Charity.
