GENERAL INFORMATION

Broadband is now a viable option for many Internet users in the UK now the cost has fallen to realistic levels (from as little as £20 per month). The benefits far outweigh any doubts you may have. The most obvious one is being able to use the telephone whilst being connected to the Internet, a major bonus I am sure you will agree, this along with the possible 10X increase in speed and a true 24/7 connection with no 2 hour cut off points. There really are no down sides to a broadband connection.

From July the first 2002 BT introduced a new method for calculating the demand for converting telephone exchanges to broadband/ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line). The new method involves users having to pre-register with Internet service providers who in turn pass the information on to BT. When a preset figure is reached BT will consider upgrading the exchange to become broadband (ADSL) capable.

You can register your interest in ADSL with an ISP as well as see how many other people have registered an interest that use the Cudworth exchange via the BT availability checker on the following links OUR TRIGGER LEVEL (just fill your phone number in and hit go) and http://www.vote4broadband.com which also takes pre registrations that add towards our target level.

Registering your interest doesn't not place you under any obligation to purchase broadband.
