Fanfic Glossary

Lord Zedd

I realised after I started to write my revamped 'Mighty Morphin' fanfic that the different or altered content of my stories, compared with the original 'Mighty Morphin Power Ranger' show, might confuse readers. So, I created this glosary to help you with your queries - hopefully they'll be answered here!

Nefaria – Dregon’s right hand. Nefaria is a beautiful and extremely loyal warrior of her count, the exiled Edenite prince, Dregon. There are only 5 Zords, (no pink one) which can connect with the Ninja Falconzord, and also Titanus.

"Silly Rangers" – Alternative, and more appropriate name for the clay servants to Rita. They were named the Z Rangers as a mark of respect, and loyalty, but it is more of an embarrassment to the Nimians. They are the standard type of clay ranger, 4ft tall and virtually indestructible. They can lack intelligence, but if made well can prove loyal, hardworking and valuable team members.

He’s blue in colour, and has Great White Shark Power Source. time warp – An opening in the space-time continuum that can draw beings into it, and release them in a different place in time, or into another dimension. Titanus – The Ultrazord spirit, in form of the Ultrasauros. It mechanizes to become the carrier of the Dino, Ninja and Shogun Megazords.

Tom – Only White Z Ranger. A little nervous and a water phobic, and definitely not a valiant leader.

Tommy – Talented and sensitive teenager, chosen (by fate) by Rita to be the Green Ranger. He fell under her spells and performed her Evil bidding with cold efficiency. The Power Rangers broke the spell over him, and he joined their side. The Green Power Coin had originally been Lord Zedd’s – Rita’s overlord – so Rita desperately tried to retrieve this item. This lead to her last ditch attempt to strip Tommy of the Green Powers by using the Green Candle. This forced Tommy to give up his coin to Jason to prevent Rita retrieving his powers. Zordon later restored Tommy’s powers when he was needed to help the other rangers after they lost their power coins. His powers were unstable, and were prone to waning.

Upon Lord Zedd’s arrival, the Emperor aimed at Tommy as the Power Rangers’ weakest link. He eventually reclaimed his coin from Tommy, but had also announced that he wanted Tommy for his heir if he could be brought back to the Darkside.

After losing these powers, Tommy was reselected by Zordon to be the White Ranger. His White Tiger coin had a stable, good power source, invulnerable to Evil.

He is a fantastic and valiant warrior, and becomes a fantastic leader of the Power Team. He does not realise the truth of his reality, which explains much about why his Fate has turned out as it has.

Tommy 1 – First Green Z Ranger. A bit of a bighead, and madly in love with Kim 1. He tries to impress people, but usually ends up making a fool of himself.

Tommy 2 – Second Green Z Ranger. He’s a huge fan of the human TV show VR Troopers, and patterns his life after Ryan Steel, the show’s main character and his idol! Otherwise, he’s a wimp!

Tor – The Thunder Ultrazord spirit. It is a gigantic and powerful Tortoise-like creature.

Torture Chamber – Located in the laver barracks of the Lunar Palace, where traitors and disobedient servants are punished severely by the Emperor himself. There are severe devices of torture in here.

Triceratops – Blue Ranger’s Dinosaur Power Source. ‘Three horned face’.

Trini – A quiet girl with a strict code of honour, she was the original yellow ranger, and embodied the spirit of the Smilidon dinosaur power.

Trini – Only yellow Z Ranger. She is serious and loyal, and works very hard for little reward. She is one of the more trustworthy of Zedd’s rangers, but suffers from the flaw of concern.

Tyrannosaurus – Red ranger’s Dinosaur power source. ‘King of the tyrant reptiles’.

Viewing Globe – Device used to show imagery of current events to occupants of the command centre. Can see imagery across several dimensions and throughout other galaxies when correct co-ordinates are used to pinpoint the location of the events.

Vikor – Father of Scorpina. He has retired from his days as an ace warrior, his daughter now taking his place, but continues to remain loyal to Zedd. He carries the magical power of the Spider.

Vile, Master – He may appear decrepit, but Vile is a powerful man. He has only got stronger with his age. He is father of Rita and Rito, and ruler of an average dominion. Though he is quite enigmatic, and his youth is long past, his legacy of rivalry against Aytiphon in his younger years is well known. This burning hatred was carried to focus on Aytiphon’s son, Zedd. Perhaps he has more to do with Zedd’s tragic past than the Nimian realises...

Z

Z Ranger – Honorary name given to the 12 clay-based, 4ft rangers who originally served Rita. They tend to be incompetent and foolish, and embarrass the alien band more than aid them. Apparently named after the real rangers as a taunt. The latest in a long line of clay servants manufactured for Evil Aliens.

Zack – Cheerful and outgoing, Zack is a happy-go-lucky fellow who dons the Black Ranger Powers. He is loyal to his friends, and is clear-headed in battle situations, which balances out Jason’s temper and act-on –impulse attitude.

Zack 1 – First black, clay ranger of the Z Rangers. He is a lively chap, who enjoys surfing, and is a Xena – Warrior Princess fanatic. He has a strange allergy to Smoky Bacon crisps...

Zack 2 – Bold and daring, he is often influenced by renegade Bill. He hates Zedd, but is a master chef and loves to cook! His speciality is poultry.

Zedd (horse) – Jason Z Rangers Power Source. A fanged, powerful stallion with blazing red eyes, the nature of its connection to Zedd is unknown.

Zedd, Lord – Son of Aytiphon. Zedd is Emperor over a large dominion. He heralds from Nim, and inherited much of his status from his father. Cold and callous, he does much in his own interests alone, and is built powerfully. His past accident with the Zeo Crystal left him majorly disfigured, and this leaves him to many disadvantages. Many say this accident only made him more cold-hearted than before. He has yet to find the one who coaxed him into getting the Zeo Crystal – and therefore injuring him almost fatally – and, as yet, has no heir to his kingdom. He is married to Rita Repulsa, one of his subordinates.

Zeo Crystal – Powerful precious stone, held in the Caves of Deception, on top of which the Lunar Palace was built. It harms, sometimes brutally, any being with Evil in them due to the special force field that now surrounds and protects it. It should be used solely for Good causes, for if Evil ever harnesses its powers, it could be disastrous! Notorious for its disfigurement of Lord Zedd of Nim, and also for its defacement of Dregon.

Zithium Cylinder – Technical name for a space dumpster, an imprisonment device that beings are placed into, in hibernation, and left to drift around the cosmos. They are often found crash-landed on satellites.

Zordnia – Mysterious, densely forested planet. It was here that Finster discovered the location of the Ancient Zords. It is in a far-off galaxy from Earth.

Zordon – Wise wizard who fought the wars against Evil, to free the galaxies centuries ago. He was trapped in a time warp by sly Rita around 8000bc, and can now only communicate with the real world through an energy tube at his Earth outpost. He is wise and just, and aids, supports and guides his Power Rangers to victory. He hails from Eltar, and a long line of Wizards and Witches.

Zords – Magical spirits that, once summoned, can mechanize into powerful fighting robots. These can then interlock and bring all their powers together into an awesome Megazord or Ultrazord, the ultimate fighting force!
