I was shocked at how few birds there were in Java. Bogor Botannical Gardens are pretty good for a variety of birds, although with tall trees and plenty of people they are not always easy to see. The ribbon development across the island means that independent excursions are advisable, although there are some munias at Borobodur Temple site.
