Komodo is a fantastic place to visit, I only wish I could return for a longer visit! It is in the Lesser Sunda chain, closer to Australasian conditions than most of the Indonesian islands, therefore the birds are particularly interesting. There is too much to see and log in a short period, it really is worthwhile taking the telescope although you'll probably wilt under the heat!
