GOLD SAUCER

The Gold Saucer is an amusement park in which you can play a variety of games and win prizes or GP (game points) which can be exchange for items. You have to pay to enter, the price is 3000 for a single ticket or 30000 for an unlimited access ticket (Gold Ticket.

To get to the Gold Saucer you need to ride the cable car at the Ropeway Station at Corel. At the top of the cable car the Ropeway station (left) has a save point that costs 5 GP to use. Behind that there is sometime a man who will sell you GP for Gil at a price of 1 GP for 100 Gil.

 

When you have paid your entrance fee you can choose from seven Squares (areas) to visit, these are:

Event Square - Mostly useless this area is a theatre and the only time there is a play is when Cloud and one of the girls go on a date.

Chocobo Square - A useful area as this is where you can race your chocobo and improve there level. You can also place Bets on chocobo races to try and earn GP or items. You can only place bets on races in a rank that you have competed in on your own chocobos.

Round Square - A gondola ride which takes you on a tour around the facilities at Gold Saucer. It Cost 2 GP to ride this attraction.

Speed Square - A roller coaster ride on which you must shoot targets and earn points to try and win a prize. It Costs 10 GP to use this attraction

Battle Square - A one on one battle that takes place in which you earn battle points (BP) depending on what happens in the battle. It costs 10 GP to compete and you can exchange your BP for prizes.

Wonder Square - You can play all kinds of arcade games here and earn GP or items for doing so. You can also exchange your GP for items in this area. the games will cost a varying amount of Gil.

Ghost Square - A hotel with a haunted house theme, you can rest here for 5 GP. Ghost Square also has a shop which is the only place in the game where you can buy Ethers.
