WALKTHROUGH DISC I

 

KALM

 

(In this section it may seem like I have missed bits out but I haven’t there are just a lot of automatically controlled sections in this part of the game).

 

Once you are on the world map you need to go to Kalm. Before you do however there is a monster in the area called the Custom sweeper that has two useful things The first is the enemy skill Matra Magic,  and the other is a powerful weapon for Barrett that can be stolen. Now head north east from Midgar until you see a small town. When you do go into it and every one will go into the hotel. Before you follow go into all the other houses for some items. In the first house (moving clockwise from the hotel) there is an ether under the stairs, in the next house there is a dog under the stairs if you want to let him out, and upstairs there is an ether in the cupboard. In the next house there is a set of winding stairs at the back, go up them and open the chest to receive the Peacemaker, in the same house but up the other stairs there is a guard source in a cupboard. Back outside and up the stairs at the back of the town are three shops in the Materia shop there are two new Materia Earth and Heal, buy them if you want. In the final house there is another ether under the stairs. Now go back to the hotel and go upstairs for a little chat. Cloud starts to tell his story and it isn’t long before you are in a battle, just sit back and enjoy the ride as Sephiroth will do all the damage and Cloud is mostly lucky just to survive. When you can control Cloud again walk past Sephiroth to hear Barrett say some things. Now go into the 2^nd  house at the bottom of the screen. This is Tifa’s house. When she asks questions answer yes. When inside go upstairs and into Tifa’s room. Examine her piano and choose  “just a little” make a note of the notes that Cloud plays as you will need them a bit later. You can also check the cupboards to collect a pair of underwear choose what you wish when the choice comes up about them. Now leave Tifa’s house and go next door. choose “all right ……” to learn a bit about Cloud. You see his mum who you see in the dream at Aeris’ house earlier in the game. Head in the house with the green sign above the door for a little laugh and the follow Sephiroth into the hotel. Go upstairs and speak to him, then speak to the Shinra soldier and then finally Sephiroth again and choose to get some rest. When you wake up speak to Sephiroth and you will find out Tifa is the guide. When you regain control of Cloud start to cross the bridge and speak to Tifa. Follow her across the bridge and it will collapse. Now go up the hill and into the cave. Once inside follow the path around and into the next part of the cave,  in here you will learn a bit about Materia. when you reach the reactor start up the stairs to go in it. Now walk around the path across the plank and down the chains. Once on the floor go through the door and up the stairs and speak to Sephiroth he will tell you to sort out the valve examine the pod to do this and then speak to Sephiroth until you look into one of the pods. You can now save your game if you want to. When you are inside the Shinra mansion go up the stairs and to the right past the soldier and through the passage in the wall at the back of the room. Go down the spiral ramp and into the door at the very end of the tunnel. Now leave the room. When you wake up go back down into the library, go right to the back and speak to Sephiroth. Follow him out of the library and back up the spiral ramp. Leave the mansion to find the town burning. Run into Clouds house to induce an FMV. You will now be back in the reactor start to move forward  and you will see the clip of Tifa and her dad again, now follow her. Talk to Tifa who is lying on the floor and then follow Sephiroth. That will now be the end of the story when Barrett leaves choose “right” to continue with the game. Equip anything you brought and then leave Kalm and go back to the world map.
