Although you'd never know it if you looked at her, Yuffie comes from a long line of ninja. She forced herself into the group just to get a "certain something". She's sneaky, arrogant and "way" selfish. but with her super shuriken and her special skills, there isn't anyone else you'd rather have on your side in a fight.

HOW TO OBTAIN YUFFIE

To get Yuffie to join your party you must first beat her in a battle. She appears in forest areas of Junon and Gongaga, the first time you will be able to meet her is in the three forests in the Junon area. When she appears she will be called Mysterious Ninja. The battle is shown in the image below.

After the battle you will be on a screen with her lying on the floor and a save point in the back (above), DO NOT save as Yuffie will run of with some gil and you will have to find her again. Talk to Yuffie to initiate a conversation in which you will be given some options. Here are the correct choices:

 

Yuffie: You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!

Cloud: Not interested.

Yuffie: You're pretty scared of me, huh!?

Cloud: .....petrified.

Yuffie: I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!

Cloud: Wait a second!

Yuffie: You want me to go with you?

Cloud: .....That's right.

Yuffie: All right! I'll go with you!

Cloud: .....Let's hurry on.

After that she will be in your party.
