Seven Simple Stretches
From an idea by Barbara Cooper, adapted and sketched by Dee Cammack



1) Tadasana
Relaxed attention.


2) Breathe in
Stretch up.


3) Breathe out
Return to Tadasana.



4) Breathe in
Stretch up onto the toes.


5) Breathe out
Return to Tadasana.


6) Breathe in
Stretch up and backwards (not too far!)


7) Breathe out
Coming up and bending forwards from lips.


8) Breathe in
(or keep breathing) coming up slowly, keep arms down, bring head up last. Bring arms to shoulder level.


9) Breathe out
Twist to left.


10) Breathe in
coming back to centre and repeat to right.


11) Breathe out
Sideways stretch to left. Breathe in coming up, repeat to right.


This sequence is ideal for waking up, early morning stretches or preparing to sleep.
