DOMESTIC & AGRICULTURAL
Longhurst Lodge

A derelict Elizabethan Revivial keeper's cottage which stands at the start of an abandoned coachroad leading up to the site of a mansion destroyed by fire in 1979. (South Surrey; Cranleigh).
Tan-y-Foel

An abandoned hill farm in an advanced state of decay. (North Carmarthenshire; Ram).
Woodbarn

A pair of derelict workers' cottages in a Wealden wood whose walls feature wartime Italian graffiti and amateur artistry. (South Surrey; Ockley).
Betchworth Castle

A foul weather visit to the ruins of a fortified manor house overlooking the River Mole. (Mid Surrey; Brockham).
INDUSTRY & INFRASTRUCTURE
Esgair-Mwn Lead and Zinc Mines

The small mining operation that was Ceredigion's last zinc mine closed in the 1950s. Today much still remains, including the ore dressing mill, mine office, shafts, incline and tramways. (Northern Ceredigion; Pontrhydfendigaid).
Ebernoe Brick & Tile Works

The remains of a small 18th century brickworks on Ebernoe Common. (West Sussex; Ebernoe).
Brockham Lime and Hearthstone Works

A complex of quarries, workshops, limekilns and mines last worked 70 years ago. Home until 22 years ago to the Brockham Narrow Gauge Museum, despite being a protected monument, the site is now in a very bad state of repair. (Mid Surrey; Brockham).
Elmer's Mill

Elmer's Smock Mill was built in 1803 overlooking the village of Ockley and stood for over 140 years before she collapsed without warning in 1944, leaving only the brick base. Happily, 62 years on she is slowly being restored to something of her former glory, albeit for residential purposes. (South Surrey; Ockley).
Shiremark Mill

Another Surrey smock mill, Shiremark was built in the 18th Century and literally marked the shires - the boundary between Sussex and Surrey. However, after decades of dereliction and largely abortive restoration attempts, she was destroyed by fire in 1972. All that remains today are the brick base and a few pieces of twisted metal and charred wood. (South Surrey; Capel).
West Hoathly Station.

West Hoathly Station was opened in 1882 and had a rather chequered history until it finally closed in 1958, following lengthy legal procedings. Today only the platforms survive. (Mid Sussex; West Hoathly).
MILITARY & GOVERNMENTAL
Cuckmere Haven Coastal Defences

Second World War anti-invasion defences in the Cuckmere River Valley and estuary. (South Sussex; Westdean).
GHQ Stop Line Sector Blue - Box Hill.

The slopes around Box Hill were heavily defended in the first years of World War Two as part of the 'Stop Line' system that was designed to delay or halt an invading force. This gallery covers a selection of the defences from Duke's Copse (Brockham) to the Mole Gap south of Burford Bridge. (Mid Surrey; Brockham & Westhumble).
Special Duties Control ('ZERO') Station

A once top secret underground radio/telephone intelligence relay station manned by the ATS Auxiliary Unit. (Sussex; Undisclosed).
