T
he only thing that the Parliament of Canada has to offer the homeless Canadians
is the fact of homelessness of third world, I do not see why they need to be
paid a salary and an enviable retirement package. The global poverty is clearly
troublesome but I do not subscribe heavily to global warming, although it needs
to be on the backburner in any event. If you are aware of the continuous
recession, the AIDS pandemic, and other current problems that we face, the least
those who wish to deal with those issues can do is meet with those like me who
have the answer, which can be summarized in two words – honest work.
It
is perfectly fine if you don't know how to begin to answer for me the issues
that I bring before you of this mentally disabled, homeless, (shelter less),
foodless, and medical care less man without any income, family, belongings etc.
The fact of homelessness may not be the responsibility of the State if that
happens from the events that took place in the life of a person where he might
have lost it all by being a gambling addict. The man I am talking about is one
of the top-level neurologists of North America i.e. a world-class scholar and
the state of affairs that he is in is the result of the crimes of the servants
of the State i.e. the Parliament of Canada.
I
do not wish to subscribe to the theory that it is necessary to join a political
party to change the world, but the element of doing some work to change things
is unquestionable. The integrity and honesty has to begin from within. My
explanation for the dishonesty and stupidity of the leaders is that the public
in general is fairly corrupt. It is not unusual if a thief ends up being the
leader of a gang of thieves. That is why until the entire nation sets its mind
on honest work that there can ever an honest Parliament. The hallmark of
Canadian public is to get things by stealing from others.
Greed
is the key element of capitalism all over any way. What is needed is the
willingness to empathize with others and view the neighbours as a human being
and not harm him. The dirty element of the politics is that the politicians make
themselves vulnerable to make false promises to get into the House of Commons
because they would never be allowed by the public to get there unless they make
a series of false promises. Honesty and truth is not what the public is willing
to deal with. An honest days work is not what we grow up to aim at. We want a
cushy highly paid government job where we wish we would never have to move a
finger. Being a parasite on the few unfortunate and stupid souls who don’t
know better to feed these no-gooders that the government of Canada ends up
hiring. The unions being more powerful than the government does not help.
There
is nothing to opt out of. What I am advising the Canadian public is that after
they have cleaned up their own house, they get into some hard bargaining
situation with the MPs. We can certainly choose to boycott the elections and
change the roots of the system. We do have time. There is no rush to hire
another bunch of clumsy and inept people to keep screwing up things without any
accountability and sense of ethics. If I were looking for a mate, I would rather
delay the union and keep looking and find the right guy instead of settling with
whoever comes first and lies to me and gives me a set of unreasonable and
impossible dreams.
We
do have to work within the society but we should not be content with the society
that we have created with all its failings. That would be advising me to learn
to live with the lump in the breast. I must deal with it, get it out.
We have to challenge ourselves more than we need to challenge others. Mr.
Layton needs to clean up his own NDP record rather than point fingers at Mr.
Martin. If we allow those who wish to trespass to continue to do that, we are
not in a position to cast stone at them four years later. Incidentally given
that NDP is heavily labour movement based and the high production costs of
Canadian goods that is slowing the economy by reduction of the exports and the
GDP, it can be reasonably interpreted that Mr. Layton would be in conflict with
the economy of Canada if he attempts to keep his supporters i.e. labour happy
and overpaid. Everyone needs to realize the need of honesty. The current rule in
Canada is that do not bother with my conduct, honesty is mandatory to others
only not me.
There
is no doubt we need to be able to do a better job, and in fact there are jobs
all over in the technology and other skill needing areas, but there are no
qualified or skilled people. Laziness and unaffordable post-secondary education
that keeps getting more expensive every year is the root cause why our standards
of living are falling. The natural resources and industry are no longer able to
keep Canada in good economic shape given our high labour costs. We need to rely
on the skilled labour and intellectual manpower. The better buying capacity of
the income and lower taxes are attracting our computer programmers, doctors,
engineers etc. to US and Europe. We cannot retain technically qualified and
skilled people in Canada any longer. That is what poverty does to you. This
downward trend and brain drain is hard to stop but it is not impossible.
It
would require very wise and bold steps and some hardship like transient high
taxes and reduced services. My parents had to really tighten their belt to put
us three through the university to be able to benefit from the better standards
of living than we would have had without an education. That hard period is what
no one wants to go through nor do the politicians have the guts to even propose
that to the public. That would be too honest and who ever the messenger would be
eliminated. We are unwilling even to hear out the honesty oriented people. You
are exceptional in writing back to me, most people simply vanish. I was not
really hoping that you would be able to handle the truth that I have to say and
would write back.
The
trap of vilifying others is clearly undesirable and unproductive. I do not see
anyone as opponents. That shows that even the three big party leaders have no
concept of democracy. There is no such thing as opponents in a democracy. You
may be able to grasp it in the contest of the leadership race of the NDP party.
After the leader is elected the two or three contenders who lose, must be
willing to throw their full and unconditional support behind the one who
prevails. That is what Mr. Harper and Mr. Layton should have been placing their
full support behind Mr. Martin as the leader of the Parliament of Canada and not
oppose him for no reason. But that does not mean that they must look the other
way when he is engaging in a conduct that harms Canadians. Their role is simply
as watchdogs and not let Mr. Martin stray from the straight and narrow and often
they do. In fact, it appears that they push the ruling party into mistakes,
which can be exploited at election time.
If
Mr. Layton was really concerned about the deaths of the homeless, he should have
asked his entire team of NDP MPs to resign unless the housing issue was dealt
with immediately after the fact came to his attention. He could have taken other
steps like fund raising for building shelters at that time after leaving the
Parliament and forego the pension as well. That is why his accusing Mr. Martin
to be an accomplice to the murders of those hypothermia victims is hypocritical
because he himself is an accomplice through silence and has no right to cast any
stone at him.
You
suggest that we have to change the system to make it better but I have no reason
to believe that you know how that would be done. Even in the most honest and
best of intentions Mr. Layton and his team sets out to do that, there is not a
chance that there would be any success. We sure have to be creative and if
necessary revolt against the wrongdoer PMO and the ruling party through civil
disobedience etc. But we cannot use strikes to exploit our neighbours. When the
salaries of the non-unionized labour goes down the income of the rest of the
Canadian public drops. In the result, the labour unions end up creating the very
situation that they criticize the company CEO of doing i.e. unacceptable
disparity of wealth.
HEU
janitor makes twice as much as the janitor in a small grocery store where there
exists no union. No one wants to be willing to be accountable. Take the example
of speeding. Who cares about the speed limits?
We want to get there sooner no matter if we kill a cat or a kid on the
way. I have no problem with your preaching because I know most of those who are
in need of that are not even listening and I for one do not need it because I
know it all and practice that. I am very pleased and feel ecstatic and
privileged that I got you thinking about why you do what you do. That is what
would be the first step towards a better Canada. We even have the burden of
protecting the third world nations by insuring that they do not starve, die in
strife, famine etc. or of AIDS epidemic. When we are failing miserably in
dealing with our own child poverty and homelessness what hope those people can
have from us who are in need of copious amount of help.
There is not much that any Canadian and I can distinguish between CLP, NCP and NDP and their leaders Martin, Harper and Layton. There is no difference in their platform or mandate either.
You
concede that Mr. Layton isn't perfect. We can deal with that state of affairs with some conditions. That does not concern
me. Humans are not expected to be perfect. But humans must be humble and concede
to their mistakes and be willing to listen and change. I am not at all concerned
that despite the critique of Mr. Harper and Mr. Martin and some NDP candidates
Mr. Layton continues to stand behind the allegations about the deaths of the
homeless (although I find him an accomplice) as long as he suggests what he
proposes to do. Let us see what he, Mr. Fraser and you suggest be done about Dr.
Verma here. He could have ended up dying as well being neglected the way he was.
I
would need to discuss with you further what you mean when you say that you
envision Mr. Layton to be an effective political leader. To my knowledge, there
is nothing that he can be personally credited with. Sticking out his neck for
the dying homeless Canadians would be a basis for giving him credit if there was
no blood on his own hands. But that is not the case.
I
am encouraged to note that you are the force behind Mr. Fraser running but I
wonder if that is being done against his own wishes. I do know that leadership
at that level, like parenthood is a thankless job and it is impossible to do it
right. If you thought that Mr. Fraser was a person that you would want as your
MP, then I have to allow you the benefit of doubt and of the knowledge but I
would not be able to judge whether that was a wise thing or not until after
seeing his performance. Given that NDP is not expected to rule and even the
backbenchers of the ruling party do little other than occupy space and make good
decoration pieces on the House of Commons, I doubt if I would ever see any
contribution from the work of Mr. Fraser in the history of Canadian politics.
That
can happen only through a long and protracted sojourn in the Canadian
Parliament. However, I am sure that Mr. Layton and through association Mr.
Fraser could get a tremendous amount of credit for cleaning up Canadian politics
and maybe even set an example of the entire democratic world in making the MPs
accountable through the proposed accountability legislation that I see as the
most crucial amendment to the Parliament Act. I am a shy person and
freeze up when talking to others. I could never engage in a public presentation.
I in fact suffer from social anxiety syndrome. But I do want my ideas to be
tested. Maybe working with you through giving the ideas via email would permit
me to accomplish that.
The
only way the 5 or 8 point mandate of Mr. Layton or the 20-50 point mandates of
other parties would begin to take any meaning would be if there was a way to
insure that there is compliance with the promises. B. C. NDP team under Mr.
Dosanjh managed to get itself sued by fraudulently winning by mis-representing
the fact of a balanced budget when it was actually not balanced. The case was
thrown out due to immunity. I find that wrong. That is why I am of the view that
the only way for the public trust to be retained is to dispense with the
Parliamentary immunity. I have outlined that in my response to the Citizens
Assembly in the enclosed document that I would like you to take a look at.
There
are three steps that would make the MP accountable and two steps that would
permit the MP to be able to do anything. I think including this idea of making
the public punish the MP for wrongdoing would be a novel and great idea and
would give the NDP a boost in its credibility. It is possible that the NDP would
not be able to have this proposed accountability bill passed, but persisting
with it would either compel the LPC and NCP to adopt it or eventually erode them
to the extent that NDP could become the majority party in Ottawa. The idea is
painful but very workable and would revolutionize Canadian politics. It is
analogous to the referendum policy of the Swiss where 50,000 voters can quash a
bill passed by their Parliament if they do not like it. The essence of democracy
is that the public controls the agenda, not the leaders. Here all we see is that
monopoly of the cabinet ministers simply rapes the public. Even the liberal
backbenchers have no voice or role in the House at this time. The analogy of our
previous PMO to a dictator was not at all wrong. We need to change that and we
all know how that can be done but no one wants to do that. Giving up power and
control is hard. But until that is done, there is no hope. Things will stay the
same.
I
would certainly like to continue to give you feedback and ideas and I would
certainly like to talk to you in a personal setting most pressingly to present
to you the situation of Dr. Verma to attempt to remove this ugly stigma from the
name of the term democracy and social justice by seeking him some semblance of
justice. I am appalled by the level of corruption within the RCMP, Crown
Attorneys, Attorney General of British Columbia, Public Guardian and Trustee of
British Columbia the B. C. courts and even the Supreme Court of Canada. In a
democracy, we install courts to insure that if the administrators and the
executive breach the Charter agreement with the taxpayers, there would be
someone to make amends. But here we have judges who do not hesitate to lie and
engage in criminal conduct if that is what they decide to do. That is a far cry
from the name of democracy and the worst thing is that no one is even willing to
listen to our story. That state of anarchy that exists in the B. C. courts,
Supreme Court of Canada and the PMO is why I see no rational reason to vote.
Unless
I get some assurance that steps would be taken to have the Chief Justice of
British Columbia removed from the bench, I would in all likelihood hold the name
of democracy in Canada in contempt and decline to vote. I would not wish to have
to do anything with such a corrupt administration and judiciary and fake that I
respect the system and allow the name of democracy be associated with the
anarchy that exists in Canada, where the mentally-ill are permitted to be
abandoned and compelled to starve to death while being denied medical attention
and the three hypocrites who call themselves political leaders toot their horns
and make big promises to support of which there exist not an iota of
credibility.
The
promise that you would be happy to meet us the next time you come to Nanaimo
really means little as far as the needs of this man are concerned. He suffers
from serious migraines every day and has uncontrolled seizures. No doctor in
Nanaimo is willing to see him. This state of affairs has gone on for several
years. If you do meet with us within the next 2 weeks, that is not a big delay
in light of the above set of circumstances. But in order to speed things up, I
would not hesitate to drive up to see you provided that you have some way to
persuade someone to begin to help us now. I am sure the fact that you decided
that you would be able to generate enough public support to get Mr. Fraser
elected as an MP, you do have some familiarity with people in Nanaimo. In other
words, you must know someone other than Mr. Layton and Mr. Fraser. If you speak
to someone with some public standing who can help with the basic needs of Dr.
Verma that would be great. I am not giving those details to you here, because I
propose to describe that via phone. In fact with the help of emails and phone we
can get so much done that the need of a personal meeting can be entirely
dispensed with. I would appreciate your advising me what would be a good time to
speak to you over the weekend or early next week. If you can put me in touch
with someone influential over the local municipal politicians that would be very
much appreciated.
In line with exposing the fact that conduct of Mr. Martin was responsible
for the demise of the homeless, I would like some publication to the effect of
the misconduct of Mr. Lunney. I do not see that as mud-slinging because I
believe that the public has the right to know how it can expect to be treated by
his office if he is re-elected, which given his incumbent status and the 30% and
rising popularity of the NCP is a good likelihood. I think that the timely
publication of the material that I wish to provide you can help undermine the
credibility of Dr. Lunney if dealt with the media properly. I have some flyers
made that I would distribute as well. Your Nanaimo volunteers can help me with
that. If there is some assurance provided to me that you people have some
semblance of integrity and an honest desire to uplift the fate of the public and
deal with the homelessness and poverty issues, I would be pleased to volunteer
with you. But I must not see any trace of hypocrisy anywhere with your entire
team. I am of the view that if the NDP team were to begin to show its presence
as a driving force behind the homelessness and child poverty issues over the
next 4-8 years, NDP can be the power party in the Canadian Parliament. People
are ready for a change but there exists no alternative, but can be provided
after putting in a lot of hard work and staying away from selfishness.
There
can not be an entitlement to the Tories to ride solely on the fallout from the
federal sponsorship program The Tories would be correct in finger pointing at
the Liberal party's past, if their own past was clean. What happened when Kim
Campbell led the part into a total decimation? What only take a limited extent
of the past into consideration, why not the entire past or no past at all?
Counselors and promotional-motivational speakers tend not to live in the past at
all. The only proper role of the past is to learn from the mistakes. Tories need
to establish that the Liberals have not learned from their past mistakes while
they themselves have or are capable of. There is no such evidence.
The
waste and corruption are inevitable truths of and tradition of the Canadian
government and here to stay unless radical steps are taken. The fact that there
is a complete ignorance on those aspects permits no hope of remedies being
implemented.
The
Conservatives depict ‘taxpayers' money being tossed in a bin, but there is no
reason to imply that the NDP or they themselves would not do the same. Lack of
leadership and administrative skills is a Canadian heritage and hallmark. A few
billions here and a few billions there. No big deal. Trudeau did it, Mulrooney
and Mike Harris did it what is stopping Stephen Harper from following suit?
There never has been nor will be any time for the Governments to become
accountable. A time table cannot be stated when a step is not going to be taken
at all. Reckless handling of public money is not limited to Saddam Hussein or
the Royalties of UK and other nations. That is the price of having a
civilization and a government. Why should that it stop and what is the plan of
Stephen Harper to stop it, unless he proposes to not tax Canadians at all. The
slogan there would be I have been taxed in excess in the past, do not tax me any
more, I am Canadian. (a victim of enduring 60-70% tax burden). French revolution
took place after tax burden exceeded 80%. May be that would cure things by
analogy to the electro-convulsive therapy for psychiatric illness. The
government certainly needs a shock.
What
is the point in demanding a higher standard of government when it does not meet
even minimal standards of civility and decency. What is the basis for concluding
that it's time to demand better. May be we need to go to 90% tax burden first
before the bubble actually bursts and Canadians refuse to take the abuse. Thus
far they are pretty content if not willing and welcoming the abuse by their
governments. That pathetic state of affairs with total apathy towards politics
is the problem, which leads to the conclusion that Canadians deserve the
nonsense, abuse and oppression that they are being subjected to by their
government. The rule that one gets one deserves is hard to beat, no matter how
circular and self-serving this axiom may be. It holds a lot of truth.
Traditionally it has been hard to persuade humans to take steps to end their own
abuse. Battered wives are an outstanding examples. The continue to take abuse.
Moreover which switching of the parties the only thing that happens is the
change of the abuser as is well known to family counselors with women who keep
attracting abusive spouses serially. Canadian public is no different. Just like
a women having had five ‘bad’ marriages is best off being single, we need to
boycott the entire election process and not vote one group of incompetent crooks
over the other.
Conservatives
would like Canadians to think. How ironic and unreasonable. We are not
conditioned to think. We simply want to pickle our brains in beer and watch
hockey. We are Canadians! Who has
the time to install an “Accountable government” .We are no interested in any
such concept because the requires us to become accountable ourselves first and
we do not want to do that. It is simply implausible to have an honest government
when the population is not honest. The masses need to get their acts together
and then with even the most mediocre leadership the things would head in the
right direction.
Tories
and NDP would be truly hypocritical when sending any messages aimed at
eliminating waste, mismanagement and corruption, which in fact are Canadian
values as of today because that is what was practiced over the past decade. Just
the fact of announcement of an election does not change the past. Past cannot
amended or wiped. There is not the slightest doubt in my mind that if elected
for the next two or three terms the Conservatives would also be thrown out of
Parliament Hill with very similar allegations of corruption and waste and by
that time may be it would be the NDPs turn to rape the Canadian public. This can
be understood by the example of asking a woman to select one out of three men to
be her escort without any reassurance that each one of them has the same
likelihood of raping her during the transportation. What choice does she have?
The
Liberals took aim at Harper, portraying him as a dangerous right-wing demagogue.
That only supports the analogy stated above. Three incompetent and demonic men
pointing finger at each other calling the other two the devil incarnate does not
lead to any workable solution of the safety of the party at risk, namely the
Canadian public, to be led on the path of progress that the public wished to
head on to. The Tory hypocrisy lies
in slapping the GST on us for over a decade and use the Liberals to collect the
funds to make up for the deficit and when there is now a small surplus they are
promising to remove it from diapers and baby formula etc. Why should the
Conservatives be able to use the Liberals as the GST collection mules? Is that
not taking politician maneuvering to a new low? The only function that replacing
of the current Liberal governments with the Tories and later NDP governments is
that now we are being lied to and kept in dark by the Liberals later we would be
lied to and kept in dark by the Tories and
later NDP. Nothing is likely to change unless the rules of the game or the
legislation is changed. There is a need to be able to convict the MPs for
misconduct, fraud, corruption and other undesirable activities, unless that is
promised in a believable fashion the most effective way open to Canadians is to
slap all of the four big leaders in the face by boycotting the elections
entirely.
Hard
work and honsty.
If
the proposed changes are followed there is a reasonable expectation to begin to
notice change by 2020.
