Simulated Seeing Animations - Jupiter & Ganymede.

Below are presented 3 animations of Jupiter and Ganymede, as seen on 3 different nights through a typical good quality 30cm telescope at high magnifications (350x ~ 400x) on nights of (1) poor, (2) fair to good, and (3) excellent seeing conditions.

The animations illustrate all to well, just how much the Earth's atmosphere limits what we can observe and image on the Planets.

Animations produced by Damian Peach.
