Sustainable development
is about communities participating in building the future; a good quality
of life now, whilst sharing the Earth’s resources with tomorrow’s
generation. New Leaf Housing Co-operative Ltd. is a group of people from
different backgrounds who have come together to work for the development
of an innovative new community using the principles of sustainability.
Amongst the group is a considerable amount of expertise in fields which
will prove relevant to our project, including; alternative power and energy
systems, community development, architecture, local government, permaculture
and information technology. The community of some twenty houses will be
based on the integration of community cohesion, economic viability and
good husbandry of natural resources. |
