DECEMBER 2002

24/12/02 TOP ALBUMS OF 2002

In the Xmas issue of NME, ESP's debut album snuck in at number 48 in the top 50 albums of 2002. The placing was a little disappointing after the bands recent success at the Q Awards but little can be read into such a meaningless end of year poll.

24/12/02 AN INTERVIEW WITH ALEX

The Born Sloppy ESP site includes a short interview with Alex White in which he talks about what records he has recently bought, where to go in Brighton, and being arrested!

19/12/02 LISTEN TO LOSE YOUR FROWN

Lose Your Frown, the bands upcoming single, can now be streamed from the Born Sloppy website. Click here to be one of the first people to listen to it. Also check the Born Sloppy ESP site for a short interview with ESP and a video of an old favourite. The appearance on Born Sloppy, in my opinion, went down very well. They played the said track, which sounded very promising and after a few listens seems like a great track. Tom also helped out later in the show, playing drums whilst Holly Valance slapped a member of the public in the face with a giant fish (don't ask). Anyway enjoy the track, and hopefully we will have a MP3 available soon.

17/12/02 HEAR THE NEW SINGLE ON TV

The bands new single, Lose Your Frown, was shown for the first time on TV last Friday on the Channel 4 music show Born Sloppy. If you missed it don't worry, the show will be repeated on Wednesday 18th December at 11:40 p.m.

17/12/02 THERE'S A SILENCE RADIO PLAY

Seems that the ESP song There's A Silence is developing a bit of a following in the USA. The following radio stations have picked up the song:

KITS/San Francisco
WNNX/Atlanta
WPLY/Philadelphia
KTCL/Denver
KUPD/Phoenix
WEQX/Manchester
WOXY/Cincinnati

This must encourage the band in their chances of not only making it in the UK but also across the Atlantic.

17/12/02 NO MORE MAP RECORDS

Map Records has now officially vanished from the web, and when visiting their site you will find the Eil.com website instead. This is unfortunate as Map Records was a great supplier of both ESP and non ESP related rarities. Hope you all got a few bargains in the half price sale like I did though!

10/12/02 MORE ON FREE CONCERT

There is a free Electric Soft Parade concert on the 13th December at a London recording studio. To find out more and for a chance to win 1 of only 100 tickets check out the NME site by clicking here.

03/12/02 ESP TO SUPPORT OASIS

The Electric Soft Parade will again support Oasis on the 11th of December at The Centre in Brighton. Alex and Tom have obviously gained friends and/or fans in the Gallagher's as they also supported Oasis at Old Trafford in September for the 2 day event. Other support acts include The Stand in Liverpool, Ocean Colour Scene in Birmingham and The Bandits at the remaining events. Unfortunately tickets are sold out though so unless you already have them, or get very lucky, its unlikely you will get to see the concert.

03/12/02 LATEST OFFICIAL ESP NEWS

27/11/02 - Tom and Alex played at Dingwalls on Tuesday night, with proceeds going towards Dyslexia awareness. Those lucky enough to be there got to see them playing acoustic versions of songs from Holes in the Wall and previewing tracks from the bands second album, which is set for release in the new year.
