Holes In The Wall
Some folks make you sick. The Electric Soft Parade are a pair of young pup brothers called Alex and Tom White, aged 20 and 17 respectively, and this debut album is as confident and assured a record as you'll hear in a long time. Taking all the classic pyschedelic pop influences (Beatles, Beach Boys, etc) and reinventing them yet again, the siblings are in the same ballpark as the Super Furries, Boo Radleys and Teenage Fanclub, yet already have a style all of their own. From the pop majesty of "There's A Silence" to the gentle weep of "It's Wasting Me Away", everything here smacks of class.
