Same Way, Every Day

Not having been enlightened by the
Mercury nominated sound of Electric Soft Parade thus far, this scribe is pleased to report he's seen the light. A shard of it anyway.
Because
'Same Way, Every Day' is not far off magnificent. Well, to clarify, there are brief sections of it that utterly belie the torpid - though vaguely emotive - indie plod masquerading the numerous highs.

To be exact, the point at which the band slide from the rumbustuous main section, stop gargling with grinding guitars, and turn the pace and melody inside itself, as Alex White asks "do you and I see it the same way?" amid a glittering, fanfare of Beach Boys clarity.

Tiny acorns grow into great big, imperious trees, if you get my drift.

4/5
