I am a member of the Shin-Tozan-Ryu school of the shakuhachi.The reason I began to learn how to play the shakuhachi was because it was my dream to play some musical instrument. In those days I could not play any instrument. One day I heard the sound of the shakuhachi.I was enchanted at once. But first I imagined that the shakuhachi was a difficult instrument to play, so I hesitated. I was, however, given an instrument by my instructor and tried to make a sound. At first I failed to play.But to my surprise while I was challenging several times, a subtle sound reached my ears. Then the sound grew little by little and at last I succeeded to make such a sound as everybody knows as the sound of the shakuhachi.I was very glad. It was the moment I noticed that playing the shakuhachi was not so difficult as some people say.This was the moment I decided to practice the shakuhachi.
I like reading books, watching movies, riding a bicycle and some other things. I am interested in how to be a good speaker of English because I am a Japanese and spending everyday life surrounded by Japanese culture. In this situation it is very difficult to acquire the ability to speak English fluently, so if I have a chance to visit some countries people are speaking English, I want to travel to that country. But in this homepage I mainly would like to tell you about the shakuhachi and it is my wish that you join us if you are interested in the shakuhachi.
As I said before, I belong to the Shin-Tozan-Ryu school of the shakuhachi. The school is led by Nakao Tozan Mitsuko who is also a splended composer.She has written several tunes for the shakuhachi. For example"Mangekyo(kaleidoscope),"Fuji"(Mt.Fuji),and "Akizakura"(cosmos).She is the granddaughter of the Tozan-Ryu(school) founder, Nakao Tozan the first. And her father was Nakao Tozan the second. That means we are justly taking over the school. I wish among a lot of people who visit my site I could find a person who join us and someday I would like to play the shakuhachi on the stage together with the person. You may be the person. So here I don't want to say good-by to you. "See you again,"is a much better expression I'd like to use here. Now see you again someday somewhere.
