Draft Calendar available for the new 2008-2009 season
You can see the details HERE!.
New Season, new players...
After our wonderful unbeaten season for both teams last year and the great success of the free September last year, again Exeter Korfball Club are opening their doors to allcomers who can try out our exciting sport entirely for free during the month of September. There is absolutely no charge nor any obligation, just come and give us a try.
New Rules...
You've guessed it, there are some new rules. Why have a dog and bark yourself I always say (as an oblique compliment to Bristol City's website and updating) so you can see the details Here.
Changes to the committee and to the website coming up... (There may be some "functionality shortfalls" until this has taken place - including the temporary removal of some photographs)
Following on from recent good results at various tournaments, Exeter KC have had their AGM and there are some changes to the committee. These minutes are available Here.
In addition, the website is going to be moved to a new host and upgraded and updated more regularly in future, so keep your eyes on this. We have done lots more socials than these pages suggest, and the hope is to keep this more up to date in the future!
All players, new and old could benefit from looking through our information pack for last season, which will be updated for the new 2008-2009 season shortly Click Here.
Korfball is mixed and very sociable. We usually visit the pub after training to undo all the good we've just done, have organised pub crawls and several dinners and will continue to do so.
Team-mates will help you when you start playing and the basic rules are easy to learn. If you can catch and throw and run, you can play!
As Korfball is a game of tactics and teamwork, it doesn't get boring - it is easy to learn the basics but you can spend years developing individual and team skills and tactics.
Some of the features of Korfball:-
- Everyone attacks, everyone defends
- Equal co-operation between the sexes
- Team work and strategy more important than strength and speed
- Its new to almost everyone - we're all bad to begin with! All you need is a bit of fitness and hand-eye coordination
- Good exercise
- Chance to play local, national and international teams and competitions
- Good social scene
