Background:
The Granger family seems to sprout magical folks roughly once per generation. A solid, middle class professional family, Muggles for the most part. Tends towards lawyer, doctors and clergy.
Time at School:
No one was very surprised when Regis got his Hogwart letter. The time he turned his brother's hair a deep forest green was a clear indicator The Sorting Hat dropped him quickly into Ravenclaw. He took to magical studies like a bat to warm blood, but had serious problems in Divination. He didn't get the knack of broom flight until his second year, but he did well enough to act as Keeper for the Ravenclaw team in his last three years. He and the Slytherins often abraded...his only duel embarassed the Slytherin he opposed (disarmed and jelly-legged in almost one hex.) Regis did well in most of his classes (other than Divination), but spent a lot of his time in the infirmary, learning practical medical care on a sort of internship basis. They readily forgave him when his first magical bandaging exercise wrapped a student like a mummy. In examinations, he earned about 12 O.W.L.s and a double handful of N.E.W.T.S.
Time after School:
Regis apprenticed with a medimage for two years, then hung up his own shingle as a magical medical practitioner. He has set up practice in an upper floor on Diagon Alley. He has treated scores of witches and wizards, including Dumbledore and Ministry members. (Since he practices in London, he gets Ministry business.) In his spare time, he writes about philosophy of magic, and is active in the International Federation of Wizards, chairing a committee on the responsible use of medical magic.
