Physical appearance:

Lon Kirkus isn't tall amongst most men, standing about 5'-7", and he is lighter than most teenagers, standing at a willowy 120 pounds soaking wet. Still, this thin, nimble fellow with the short, wiry hair (already streaked white with the family's witch mark) is not considered unpleasant looking by any means. He wears stylish, dark purple robes with light purple accents, but prefers to wear the Muggle-outfit of a suit. Unfortunately, it's a suit that went out of style in the 19th century, but he is unaware (and uncaring) of the fashion faux pas. When forced, he'll wear dark purple robes with light purple accents.

He has a sharp features, with curiously flashing eyes. He often wears antique hats, from a small turban (replete with a shining purple gemstone), to a red fez that belonged to his uncle, and finally a top hat which collapses unto itself. Whenever in public, he wears an enchanted monocle, which he believes will become the next big fad. It is an inferior version of Moody's Magical Eye - the monocle can act as a camera, see in the darkness, and just barely pick out the flutterings of invisibilty. Lon derives great pleasure when people ask him about it.

Background:

The middle-child of the fabulously wealthy (and fabulously careless) Kirkus family, it was only natural for Lon to be sent to Hogwarts and make it into the family house of Ravenclaw. Why? Because none of them are incredibly brave, definitely don't care about being fair and just, and, with all their wealth, seem to have no ambition in life. Blessed with a keen mind, it's a given that most Kirkus children get into Ravenclaw, where they spectacularly fail and succeed at the same time.

Time at School:

Lon somehow did well on all his exams, but received poor marks all through school. This was because he rarely spent time studying or working in class - he just knew the information somehow come test time. He'd rather chum around with many of the professors and most of the students, or enjoy the grounds. The only classes where he stood out were potions, which he thought of as cooking, and the History of Magic, which was one great glorious story. With his endless pocketbook, he purchased all sorts of magical trinkets, for both their novelty value, aesthetic beauty, and (rarely) usefulness.

He quite quite enjoyed Dueling, thinking it much more dignified than Quidditch (only because he wasn't good at it), and although he was a Dueling champion, he always fought with a light heart and a smile, congratulating the losers (or winners, as the case may be), never holding a grudge and never trying to be a poor winner. Most of the professors at Hogwarts were glad when his time at Hogwarts came to an end.

Time after School:

After a magnificant graduation party, Kirkus embarked on a world-tour, where he hoped to find a suitable adventure. Eventually, he grew bored and returned to the family mansion. He only comes to Hogwarts (if that's where the game takes place) after receiving an owl from the old Potions Master, the only instructor who could honestly speak well of the boy.

Other Details:

Having led such a sheltered life from any challenge or threat, Kirkus is very naive. His family mistakenly believes that Voldemort is just another passing political measure, something to be ignored, and eventually disposed of. They repress all of their secret fears, and that the Nameless One will leave their household alone.
