Physical appearance:
Long charcoal black hair tumbles in straight locks around a smooth, angular visage. The light bronze cast of Ariane's skin and the distinctive shape of her eyes affirms her Indian heritage. However, startling dark grey eyes seem to belay that fact, encouraging the thought that she is of mixed-race parents. Her bone-structure is fine, her cheekbones high and her mouth well-formed but unextraordinary. Ariane stands at a lofty height of 5 feet 11 inches, with a toned, fit body to match. Everything about her seems to suggest a studied sort of normalcy. Any movement she makes seems to have been calculated and planned out. Ariane only dresses in black and dark grey, two colours that have come to epitomise who she is.
Background:
Ariane Tara Lloyd is the daughter of Gregory Lloyd, one-time Chairman of Gringotts Bank, and Vina Deshpande, now one of the most loyal followers of Voldemort. It is unknown why Gregory, a respectable ex-Gryffindor, chose the openly Dark-oriented Witch, Vina. When Ariane, or Tara, as her mother insisted on addressing her, was four, Vina murdered Gregory in cold blood in their palacial home in Southern India.
Eager to make contact with the then-emerging Dark forces and initiate her daughter to them, Vina took Tara with her to England. She enrolled her in a muggle boarding school under the name 'Ariane Lloyd', but come every holiday 'Tara Deshpande' would emerge and be taken to meet her mothers' contacts in the Wizarding world- in this way, Tara came to know many of the prominent Dark families, such as the Malfoys, McNairs and the Snapes. To Vina's surprise, Tara recieved an invitation to attend Hogwarts when she was eleven -- grateful for respite from motherhood, Vina allowed her to go, immersing herself further and futher into the Dark Arts.
Time at School:
At Hogwarts, thiis girl was once more Ariane Lloyd- no mention of her mother's name was ever made- Tara/Ariane invented a fictional story so that it wouldn't seem curious. When her time came to be sorted, Ariane begged the Hat to be put in Slytherin to avoid the wrath of her mother. Ariane kept away from most others at school, but cultivated close relationships with other pureblood children there at the time. Due to her mothers' insistence, she pushed herself hard, achieving excellent grades in every subject except Arithmancy, which she simply found beyond her. As for the Slytherin Quidditch team, Ariane played the position of the Chaser, being much too tall and lanky to be Seeker/Goalie material. Every summer, Vina would return from wherever she had been, and would instruct Ariane in the Dark Arts. By the time *Ariane Lloyd* graduated, *Tara Deshpande* was a known Dark Witch and a threat.
Time after School:
After Ariane's graduation, she continued having a dual life. On one hand, she was Ariane Lloyd and on the other Tara Deshpande. Ariane Lloyd 'quit' the magical world, delving into Muggle business- running an extremely successful and well-known Newspaper called 'The Herald'. Most of the Wizarding world forgot that she was ever a witch- and know her only as a rich Muggle enterpreneur. Tara Deshpande continued her Dark Arts training with her mother, soon becoming initiated into the newly rising Lord Voldemort's inner circle. However, she shied away from having the Dark Mark burned onto her arm, still unsure of where her true loyalties lay.
Other Details:
Illusion is the magical art of confusing the mind into seeing/not seeing what really isn't/is there.
