Magical Specialities:
Saris has a power she shares
with very few. The natural power to see into the future. Whenever she
goes into trances, she simply explains off as abesent-mindedness, and
tries to forget what she's seen. It isn't a gift she openly admits to
having though, as it tends to scare people away, in fact, she flat out
denies it now.
She's not an animagus, but she does have the unusual ability of speaking
with animals, which is a trait she openly admits too, and does not fear.

Physical appearance:
For those who know her, her physical appearance belies what lays beneath. Saris stands at 5'2", and is delicate, and slender.
Those combined factors make her first appear to be docile and weak. That doesn't last long.
Rich auburn hair, naturally hightlighted with hints of gold, tumbles down past her waist in soft waves, framing her irregular, fiercely proud face. Wide amber colored eyes, that appear to glow and burn with an inner fire, draw attention away from her to small nose, and freckles across her cheeks and nose.
She usually wears forest green robes when in the wizarding world which she much prefers. When she ventures to the muggle world however, she wears tomboyish clothes.
Background:
The only thing Saris wishes for is a family.
Now an adult and no longer a child, she has given up hope of finding her natural parents. That's not to say she didn't have some pleasant times with her adopted parents, she just wishes she knew where she came from.
It took her many years of being shuffled around in order to find a family that accepted her. She had always been considered 'strange' due to the unexplainable occurrences that happen around her... or to her. Her trances she'd fall into when she'd see the future were explained off as slow-mindedness and short attention span.
She never had friends in the Muggle schools, everyone thought she was bizarre, and dangerous, especially after the time the school bully got pelted by every pebble on the playground after he punched her and stole her lunch money.
Shortly after her ninth birthday, she was sent to live with the Cecil and Mavrene Riffington, an older couple, unable to have children, and not willing to cope with the demands of an infant.
They also happened to be of wizarding blood.
Right off they told her they had sensed she was a special child, and explained to her that they believed she would be a witch. And a short two years later she received an acceptance letter to Hogwarts, much to the pride, and pleasure of her adoptive parents.
Time at School:
Much to her delight, Saris was sorted into the Gryffindor house (she was rather delighted she still got to go to Hogwarts after she broke a Slytherin Fifth year's nose on the train) where she instantly felt at home.
She found magical studies quite a bit more fascinating then the muggle ones from before. Charms was perhaps her most favored class, with potions coming in quite close behind it. Divination however, she decided early on, wasn't something she really wanted to do, but felt compelled to stay in there due to her trances.
Her friends were few, and select, but she never wavered in her loyalty to them. Her house, also became a source of pride to her, and she protected its inhabitants, and its name with ferocity.
While she was much better understood, and accepted at Hogwarts, she still earned the title of troublemaker, as she was always doing things she was not allowed. She would sneak to the Forest to converse with the animals there, she never hesitated to do nasty things to Slytherins, and her insatiable thirst for knowledge led her countless times to the Forbidden Section of the library.
Since she refused to grow in anyway (much to her dismay she still had not filled out by her fifth year) she became seeker for the Gryffindor house. She could usually catch the snitch -- it's just a shame she couldn't manage to stay on her broom.
Despite everything, she graduated top of her house, and at Top of the Year.
Time after School:
Due to her ability to speak with animals, she was immediately recruited by the Ministry of Magic to go to China. There had been some magical disturbances there, and they believed some of the Ki-Rins (Chinese Unicorns) had the answer.
For the next four years she worked in China, monitoring the Ki-Rin's activities and translating their language for the Ministry to use. She is back at Hogwarts now, trying to get a faculty position as 'Care of Magical Creatures' teacher, because she strongly feels that due to lack of misunderstanding, magical creatures are being mistreated, and she wants to correct it.
Other Details:
Saris' best friend and familiar is a large female Masked Owl named Verdant. She was a gift from her adoptive parents when she was accepted into Hogwarts.
