Daphne has enjoyed sewing and embroidery since childhood. She was lucky in later years, to be given a job selling embroidery products in a department store. Here she was able to demonstrate and to conduct workshops. This later led to an enjoyable four year City and Guild's Course at Fareham.
She now enjoys the company of members of Force 8 and has exhibited with them several times.
Inspiration often comes from the natural world and interpreted, mostly in hand stitching, combined with the use of fabric, beads and a variety of decorative additions.
Bliss is choosing gorgeous threads from a sales stall loaded with a rainbow of colours, in smooth, fat, thin, shiny and matt textures.
