A French Wagon in German Service

This drawing by Knötel shows a French wagon being used by the Germans. The Germans made extensive use of French wagons and horses as the war went on, especially around Paris. During mobile operations there were frequent occasions where extra transport would be useful, for example when moving siege artillery from one siege to the next. As such any usable horses and vehicles would be welcome, and the Germans would either hire or requisition them.
