Truant
So here we are again - it's election time!
Soon, like some bad penny, our leaders will be stuffing our letter boxes
full
of propaganda - vote for me, me , me
After 8 years in power what do we have to show?
1998 - District Auditors Section 8 report
result - reorganization of council officers
contract's working group, etc, etc
cost - thousands of pounds.
2002 - District Auditors Section 8 report
result - reorganization of officers
contracts working group, etc, etc
cost - even more thousands of pounds
Not to mention
TWO Audit Commission Local Governance reports
highlighting continued weakness in this council.
.....or as they put it
'one of the worst performing councils in
England.'
'some services have not changed or were worse'
(sorry, i forgot, they don't want us to mention that)
.........and you may ask
' what action has been taken by our councillors
to pull this 'comatose' council out of it's stupor?
well............they play
truant
Councillors, in order to do something you first have to attend meetings.
Figures obtained from CBC's own website tell a simple story.
Overall percentage of
councillors attending meetings
66%
On average they miss a staggering
ONE THIRD
of all meetings
Tell us again, councillors.................
Just why should we vote for you?
