Shocks galore at the count!!
Is Corby changing?
Has Corby 'found out' Labour?
Tonight, on an unprecedented turnout of over 43%, the voters of Corby gave
their verdict
on the Leadership of Labour Cllr Rob Hearne.
They kicked him out!
While remaining the main party Labour lost 7 seats to the Conservatives and
Liberal Democrats.
From a pre-election position of 25 seats Labour are left with 18 seats, an
overall majority of just 7.
At the end of the count veteran Labour councillor Jimmy Kane announced that
this
'should be a warning to Labour to follow policies that the electorate want'
Notable casualties on the Labour side were Cllr Hearne himself, Sam Hagan,
Alexis Hill, Graham Bold and Mark Hill.
