On 1st January 2004, my best friend Pat passed away peacefully at the Leicester Hospice. For those of us who knew her, she was a very special person. We will all miss her very much. For the last few years, the Internet was Pats' passion and love. Through her love of folk music, her computer, and her sparkling personality she made many friends. For that we are eternally grateful. It was a pleasure to have known her.

There are tears in my heart that will never reach my eyes. Thank you for the sunshine you brought into my life.

Love was just being with you.  - Keith

Pat with Keith

I knew a Special Lady
Who meant the world to me.
She was kind and she was loving,
Just like a friend should be.
She was always there to listen,
To worry and to care,
To make the world seem better,
She made the world seem fair.
She made me laugh,
She made me smile,
She even made me cry,
But I would not change a moment
That belonged to Pat and I.
Now that I've lost my heroine
I can only remember and say:
"I loved that Special Lady
In my very own Special Way".

The music is "The Rose", one of Pats favourite songs which she sang on her last tape with Sheila Hickson. I did this arrangement for guitar and hammond on my synthesizer as a tribute to the sweetest, kindest woman I ever knew.

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
We saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
And now you are at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight and ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift upflinging rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Sing No Sad Songs For Me
by Christina Georgina Rossetti.

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree.

Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:

And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

Peace rose
Dedicated by Debs to a truly remarkable friend who I'll never forget, but will miss forever.

Memories remain when grief is past,
For family love was born to last.

My Tribute to Pat

Pat and Linda
Pat was a wonderful person, everybody at Lynx held her in great esteem. She had a great personality, got on well with people, and had a lovely sense of humour. She always had time to listen to my troubles and would give me the benefit of her experiences. Life was great when I worked with Pat, and when she left the company I missed her very much. She will always have a special place in my heart. Goodbye Pat, thanks, and God Bless You.
Love from Lyn
