2004 Cobra 400SZ Offset
Pros: Nice sweetspot, very solid
feel, helps to cure slicing
Cons: None
It is surprising how many members at my course have switched to
the new Cobra drivers (offset or regular). At our pro shop, the
Cobras are easily the best seller according to our pro.
As someone who fights a fade and even a slice from the tee, the
offset had appeal and it has certainly delivered. Without
exaggerated wrist action, slices have disappeared. If I swing
too hard I might still push or fade but I do not slice. The
contact of the club on the ball is very solid and mis-hits
(unless I hit ground first) are very rare. My swing is too
inconsistent to make an accurate distance assessment but my
drives are going much straighter and, with solid contact, that
adds up to farther in that I am closer to the hole. I do not
feel the need to swing hard and that has helped too.
I ordered the club with the red Adila graphite shaft rather than
the stock blue one. That meant a wait of ten days but the extra
whip in the shaft was worth it. The cost was the same.

| Gravity back Irons
Now the Gravity
Back irons were a little crisper than that of the other two and
distance was improved by 10 percent over my old irons. I now am
able to shape a shot a lot more often than with the other.
There are those of you who think that playing four to seven
times a week will make the difference and you are right. But I
took the Callaway's to the driving range and tested them side by
side at my current level. There is no comparison. Cobra all of
the way

Cobra Gravity Back Fairway Woods
I just recently started playing golf after about a four year layoff.
When I left the game I was playing to a 4 handicap. I am a firm
believer that fairway woods (especially the 3-wood) are clubs a
golfer needs to have a lot of confidence in. The versatility of the
these clubs are tremendous. I rely on lot on the 3 wood for accuracy
on tight driving holes, a replacement (with distance off the tee)
when faced with a balky driver, approach shots from the fairway, and
a good first hole club when tournament jitters are present. It can
save a good round of golf when the ‘A’ game is not working |

Callaway Great Big Bertha Driver
The new Callaway great big bertha
consists of three-part construction - a lightweight crown plate, a
heavy body and a precision-cast Callaway Weight Chip welded into the
inside of the club head. This is enhanced by the use of a new forged
crown plate which is stronger and lighter, further lowering the
centre of gravity in each head. And the exclusive Variable Weight
Chips have been repositioned to calibrate the centre of gravity for
maximum performance.
Callaway Big Bertha X12 Irons
The Callaway Big Bertha X-12 irons are the most forgiving irons on
the market. I owned a set of original Callaway irons and loved them
but they were a little bit too bulky. When the X-12’s came Out I
knew that they were for me.

2-Ball Putter
|
|
The 2-ball visual aid that this putter
provides makes alignment quicker and easier than with other putters
I have owned. What a good idea the 2-ball design is, just for that
purpose. Instead of spending a lot of time on a putt lining up, I
can line up quickly and accurately so that I can concentrate on the
speed of the putt. So, the design of the putter has been very
helpful in improving the accuracy of my putting simply because it
makes putts easier to line up. |

Ping G2i Craz-e Putter
But we are here to discuss another great idea
from Ping: the "unique" G2 Craz-e putter. Awesome touch,
exceptional balance, and really forgiving. Yeah, I'm talking
about a putter here. You just need to point and shoot. If you
aim correctly and your speed is right, it will be in the hole.
No twisting, no pulling, no nothing. |

The Ping Si3
Driver: The Best Driver Ping Has Produced
THE DISTANCE: I am hitting the Si3
about 10 yards longer than most of the other drivers I have
tried. I attribute this to the big club head allowing me to have
more confidence to really swing hard and the feeling of the ball
jumping off the club head. On the other hand, Ping attributes
the added length to tall, thin club head. Regardless, I think
you will notice an increase in distance as you become
comfortable with the club. |
