1851 census a Charlotte Scrutton (38 bn Aldeby, Norfolk) living at Mason's Building, Great Yarmouth with husband John (31 bn Beccles, Suffolk cabman) & children Thomas (6 bn Lowestoft) & William (1 bn Yarmouth)
It is though Charlotte dies between 1851 & 1861 (probably Blything District Q2 1856 4a 440) as in 1861 a John Scrutton (40 bn Beccles foreman livery yard) is living at 12 Pembroke Street, Cambridge with wife Susan (39 bn Holkham) & son Thos John (16 bn Lowestoft grocer)

From The Ipswich Journal 7th April 1860 Thomas Gymer of Westhall, blacksmith, charged with neglecting to maintain his mother. He pleaded inability to pay but admitted he earned 2/6 per day. Ordered to pay arrears of 12/- & costs of 13/6 in a fortnight
